FAQ’s
Q: FracCalc Pro spit out an error when I tried to do something simple or gave me an invalid answer of ‘1 / 0’.
A: Please send me the expression you entered that caused FracCalc to trip over its own feet and I’ll correct the problem ASAP. Spitting out ‘1 / 0’ is FracCalc’s way of invalidating the answer if an error occurred during computation so that irrelevant data is not presented as the actual answer. If you got an overflow error, and you didn’t enter a large number, then I would also like to hear about this as well. Ironically, computers aren’t as great at math as they claim to be, due mainly to inconsistencies that occur during conversions between decimal and binary numbers. This causes bizarre symptoms, such as entering ‘761 / 10’ and getting 76.099999999999999... as an answer. This repeating number then causes an overflow in FracCalc’s convert-to-fraction method. As a result, methods need to be designed to handle accuracy correctly. I have implemented proper decimal handling thoroughly, and after extensive testing, I'm convinced that you will never run into this problem, but if you do, I’d love to hear from you so I can push an update quickly and get you back on the road.
Q: Do you plan to add X feature?
A: Probably, but maybe I canned the idea because I didn’t think it was popular or I simply haven’t thought of it yet. It couldn’t hurt to shoot me an email with your ideas.
Q: Blah-blah-blah One-star review
A: I don’t mind criticism, it’s part of what pushes the world forward, but if you have a specific problem and you leave a one-star review on iTunes, I have no way of knowing what caused the problem or contacting you to get more information. Leave a bad review if you must, but email me with information so I can fix the problem and no one will have to deal with it again. I welcome all feedback, whether positive or negative, and if you have a problem with one of my products, I’d rather fix it and make you a happy customer than see you walk away disgruntled.
